Bonchon Myun

Last Saturday me and several bloggers mates was invited by Bonchon for brunch. They about to launch their newest menu, called Myun (Korean signature noodle). This event was held in Bonchon, Citiwalk Sudirman. This is not the 1st time I came Bonchon in this branch. We seated after we're done with registration.

A weeks before the event, Bonchon's Event and Social Media Coordinator email me for the invitation and I can choose the brunch menu that I want.

Since I came to this event with my hubby, so we ordered different menu. So I can taste both new Myun.

Entree

Kimchi Soup - IDR 10.000
I ordered Kimchi Soup for my entree. Since I'm a bit flue and soar throat, so this Kimchi Soup a bit help to calm my flue.  This soup is so sour and spicy. But I kinda like it. It seasoning well.

Bonchon Bites Spicy - Regular 10 bites - IDR 13.181
I always love this Bonchon bites, especially the spicy one. I even take this once into a movie theater (sstt... don't tell the security hihihi). Eventhough, I think the chicken not as thick as the 1st time they launched it.  The crunch and the spicy is always hard to resist.

Fresh Salad - IDR 25.000
I also tried my friend Niya entree. Bonchon Fresh Salad really served fresh. The lettuce and carrot still crunchy and fresh  I like the dressing a bit sour but nice. Vegetables topped with fried batter.

Main Course

Here are the stars of the day. Signature noodles from Korea called Myun. Similar like ramen in Japanese food. Myun in Bonchon consist of Myun, chicken cutlet and topped with sauce that mixed with chicken chunks. Bonchon present 2 kind of Myun. The spicy and the classic one.  If Bonchon say it spicy, the you will get the real spicy in it. For the Classic one, the taste is sweet but still have spicy taste in it. It supposed to the classic one don't have the spicy taste, so who don't like spicy still can eat Myun. To accompany the Myun there's a chicken cutlet. At first I thought my tongue can't feel the taste. Because the chicken cutlet taste bland and  too dry. Not as juicy and tender as the Bonchon chicken. But when I got a chance to asked the Chef, he said to make it not bland, we should mix it all with the Myun. So it's not become overwhelmed. As for the Myun, I think it a bit overcooked. So when I mixed it with the sauce, it became to soggy.

Overall, for the Myun, Bonchon still need a bit improvement on this menu.

Dessert

Blueberry Snowflakes - IDR 11.800
Hubby ordered this Blueberry Snowflakes for his dessert. The blueberry syrup more tasty than the 1st time I tried. But still... the mochi is so petit. I barely can't see it hehehe... 

Small Mochi 3 pcs - IDR 14.090
This mochi is my all time favorite dessert from Bonchon. Whether it's strawberry, mocha or vanilla. I like'em all. The softness of the mochi covered the ice cream inside. I guess 3 pcs is never enough hehehe...

Lemon Tea Small - IDR 6.818
We prefer this fresh Lemon tea.

Overall, we really had a great time Brunch in Bonchon. Nice peoples and good food.

Holycow - Lunch at Rooftop Garden

After my last visit to Holycow #TKP Sabang, my hubby apparently mouthwatering looking at the steak picture. Since our office so close and I just need to blink from my office to Holycow #TKP Sabang, so here we are meet at  Holycow #TKP Sabang for lunch.

I choose sitting in the outdoor area. This is because, on my 1st visit I can really enjoyed the rooftop garden area due to a very hard rain. Even though the sun shine so bright outside, but I didn't feel to hot sitting outside. Maybe this is because the eco garden that they use.

After we seated, the waitress gave us bread stick as a compliment. The taste was so bland. But when I tried to dip in to the sauce, it pretty good hohooho...

Wherever Holycow located, my hubby always order Wagyu Rib Eye with mushroom sauce. The medium well of wagyu rib eye cooked perfectly. It blend together with the herbs. Taste juicy and tender.Served with french fries and  sauteed spinach.

For my self, I ordered Burger Wagyu or usually called Bergyu. I also ordered with medium well. The meat is so tender and juicy, mixed with cheese onion and mayonnaise all melted together in  my mouth. Not to forget, Holycow special sauce. I choose Buddy's Special to accompany my Bergyu. Served with french fries.

Holycow! #TKP Sabang

A view weeks ago,  Open Rice held gathering at Steak Hotel by Holycow new location  Sabang. See the location. I just need to blink my eyes from the place. So, I was excited to attend this gathering. We called this branch with TKP Sabang. TKP also means Tempat Karnivora Pesta. So, I imagine there are going a lot of meat that serve here.
Holycow TKP Sabang took placed in 5th Floor Sere Manis Restaurant Building in the corner of Sabang Street. Sabang Street or also known as K.H Agus Salim Street really famous with variety restaurant from local to international, from fine dining to street food. In this branch, Holycow took theme Rooftop Garden. It was so nice dine in here. If it's rain or in outside way too hot, don't worry, because Holycow have a nice indoor complete with mini-playground for your kids. Since that day suddenly came a very hard rain, so from outdoor we moved into function room. One thing tha I curious most about the interior. Looks like the owner adore Liverpool so much. It appear on their ceiling hohohoh

Now let's dig the meat that I can't hardly to wait.... They served it with 3 kind of sauce that we can choose. Such as Buddy's Special, Mushroom, Blackpepper and Barbeque. Every have it's ow signature taste and definitely all great. Me like the mushroom and buddy's special.

PART  2 Holycow Steak (400gr) 
Me started with the steak I ordered. Which was Part 2 that using a very tender and juicy rump part. This 400gr steak is a serious deal. Because it's really thick and huge. I asked for medium for my steak. But maybe since my steak have to be model first, it turned to be medium. Luckily it still taste yummy and juicy. The herbs perfectly blend with the meat.Served with french fries and spinach saute.

PART  2 Holycow Steak (400gr)  - IDR 99.000

The  next steak that I tried was Part 1. This is Holycow's ultimate steak. Why? Because it through the slow cooke for 4 hours with secret method. This method still keep all the juiciness stays in the meat. So we still can see the pink color in the meat. And they don't lie. It still feel juicy and tender. Served with french fries and spinach saute.


PART  1 Holycow Steak (350gr)  - IDR 89.000
Wagyu Sirloin
Usually, most ladies avoid this Sirloid because too many fat in it. But Sirloin that I taste in Holycow pretty good. It still have the juiciness and it still tender. Served with french fries and spinach saute.

Mashed Potato
Holycow also served us their mashed potato. The appearance looks like 2 scoop ice cream. With cherry tomato on top.But  I think, the taste not as good as the appearance. The seasoning and the herbs not too tasty. All I felt is just the raw potato. Really need improvement on this.

Holycow and Openrice also have a picture games. And voila... I'm one of the winner.. Yipeeyy... I won the Red Velvet from Cupcake Company. It taste so moist and not too overpowering in sugar and icing. Love it. The 4 others also won the Twitramisu from the Cupcake Company.

Seigo Dakgalbi

Several days ago me and my bloggers mates was invited in a Soft Launching for Korean Restaurant called Seigo Dakgalbi. To be honest, this is the 1st time I heard about Seigo Dakgalbi. So I was so excited to come.

Seigo Dakgalbi located in one shopping town area in Tebet Green, MT. Haryono. In my invitation wrote that is in UG Floor. But kinda confused to find. No wonder, they haven't put their sign board yet. First look, the place is so spacious. Taking place in the corner of the mall, so customers can see Jakarta view from the restaurant, because they put a lot of big windows. The earth colour like green, red blue and chocolate dominated the area. Make the room so convey and hip. Upon each tables, there's a round stove with it fry pan to cook the dakgalbi. With stove and big window, I think Seigo Dakgalbi need more air-con, specially in the hot afternoon.

Since it's still brunch time (around 10.30 am) so we ordered some light food. The chef said, usually in Korea these are very famous local street food and some of their beverages. Hhhmm... make me curious what it taste...

Nun Sungi Ice - IDR 25,909
 My friend Aline who ordered this. Looks pretty aight? ( I mean... not you Aline LOL...) Nun Sungi Ice is a combination between jelly, korean noodle jelly, jack-fruit ice cream and simple syrup. I thought it would be so sweet. But the mix between milk and coconut milk make it good and not leaving a weird taste after it.

My friend Julia who ordered Yache Juice. It's a healthy juice that made from fresh fruit and veggies.  We instantly don't really like it. Because it still have veggies aroma in it. I often drink veggies & fruit juice. But the taste not that weird.

As for me, I ordered Yu Cha Cha. It so refreshning. Made from Sunkist Orange skin with soda. Can serve in hot or cold way. 

Sengson Duikim IDR 24,182
Sengson Duikim is fried fish fillet poured with mayo-lime. The fish is so crispy. But the fish is not too stand out. I think the sourness of the mayo-lime that make this crispy fried fish taste pretty good.

Seewoo Odeng IDR 8,205
Seewo Odeng Odeng is a shrimp satay that wrapped with Odeng and poured with sweet and spicy sauce. The taste was so-so. But the sauce help to cover all of it.

Dakkochi IDR 33.250
Dakkochi is chicken satay that poured with sour and sweet sauce. To me, nothing special from this menu. This just like other Fillet crispy chicken.

Odeng Duikim - IDR 3,866
Odeng Duikim is an odeng that wrapped the eggs and poured with sweet and spicy sauce. The taste was like Seewo Odeng above. Nothing wow from this Odeng Duikim.
  
Odeng - IDR 34,977
Odeng is a satay made from fish flour and served with fish broth and a salty savory dipping sauce. I really like this Odeng a lot. Especially when  it still hot. The texture is so tender. Dip it into the sauce and the taste even more great. Something simple but come with a great thing.

Toekbuki - IDR 38,000
Toekbuki is rice cake the texture is chewy. I like this toekbuki. The taste is just right. Even though I think the sauce is a bit bland. But it still acceptable.


Kimbab
Beef – IDR 47,068
Vegie – IDR 32,386
Kimbab is more like Korean sushi. We ordered the beef one. I thought the taste would be similar like other. But then I can't stop eating this after the 1st bite. Filled with beef, danmuji (Korean veggie), crabstick, cucumber, carrot, egg and odeng rolled with kim (similar like nori). Dip it into the savory salty sauce to make it make delicious. 


Bulgogi
With Rice – IDR 45,341
Ala Carte – IDR 41,886
Bulgogi is a beef slice mix with green and red chilli. The taste is sweet and salty. I like this bulgogi. The beef is tender and seasoned well.

Sundubu Jigae - IDR 43,182
Sundubu Jigae is so perfect for this rainy season. The hot and spicy soup, similar like Tom Yum make this menu worth to try. Consist of egg tofu, Seafood, Korean noodle (glass noodle) and egg that served in a hotbowl.

Bibimbap - IDR 48,795
Bibimbap in literally is mixed rice. Consist with bean sprouts, beef, carrot, pumpkin, inoki, saute pokcoy and half raw egg in the middle. Not to forget Korean sauce to add flavor on it. But I think the sauce not too tasteful, even though we already mixed it all. There's still something missing. And although it served in a hotbowl, but it not hot when it served. Not it left dry rice on the side of the bowl.

When visit to Seigo Dakgalbi, must order menu is their Dakgalbi. It come in a pan. Consist with veggies (pumpkin, carrot, cabbage etc), Chicken or when you ordered Seafood (even though it's seafood, but still there's chicken in it). It all blend with the korean sauce. The taste is sweet and spicy. My table ordered the original one. Just because we want to taste the real and original dakgalbi. Also with no rice and cheese add-on. We really want to try the original taste from it.

The server cooked it for us, so we don't have to worry to get overcooked. After try... I even want to dig it more and more. Love it.

Then I moved to the next table, just because curious with the seafood with rice & cheese add-on. And beyond my imagination, the taste also great. The cheese mix well with the sauce. I've got to order like this in my next visit. At the end I dig in my neighbor table seafood again *blushing *poke Rian, Niya, Lenny & Tika hohoho...

Overall, I have great time eating here. Not like other Korean restaurant, in Seigo Dakgalbi the taste not too spicy. Probably to adjusted with Indonesian peoples liking. I like some of their menus. Worth to try. The price also reasonable. The service really good. 

For social media, I guess Seigo Dakgalbi need more speak out about their restaurant. Because from what I've seen in their twitter  and facebook, they less promoted about their menus and restaurant. They more talk about Korean in general. Since it's a new restaurant, better you use your social media to do a promotion.
