Cake A Boo - Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK)

So many dessert cafe lately in Jakarta. After visiting Shirayuki we planned that we must visit Cake-a-boo also. Stalked on their instagram, it really caught my eyes. They have a very cute and adorable concept for both their restaurant and cakes selection.

We came to Cake-A-Boo around 3pm and its rainy. When we arrived, the restaurant that have to spacious area already full packed. So we have queue to get our seat. Finally we got a seat infront of the conveyor. Yes, cake-a-boo has a conveyor like in Sushi Restaurant. So we can pick the cake that we want straight from the coonveyor.

When 1st entering the Cake-a-Boo restaurant, i can't stand on my eyes capturing every single details in the room. It so playful and colorful. So eye-catching.

Look at the interior, surely I have a very high expectation on their menu. Plus see the presentation of their cakes, that really makes me drooling.

MIKO'S CAKE - IDR 35.000
Caramel mousse, crunchy caramel, melted salted 
I like the combination between caramel and chocolate. Even though both sweet, but its not too overwhelmed. And I guess Cake-a-Boo already adjust the sweetness so I don't feel it too sweet. The saltiness from the salted caramel make the caramel more tasty.

 
RASPUNZEL - IDR 35.000
Raspberry mousse infused with pistachio brulee
A very pretty and girly cake comes from Raspunzel. So beautiful with a fondant bow on top. Anything goes sour, it worked with me. And knowing it paired with the pistachio cream, make it balance between sweet and sour. Love it. 

NUTELLA BURGER - IDR 35.000 
Red velvet burger bun filled with nutella patty and assorted fruits. 
Love the nutella patty. The combination of rice crispy with the nutella is so addictive. The strawberry balance the sweetness from the nutella patty. However,   I don;t like the bun that made from red velvet. It so dry and not  moist. Really need improvement in it.

CAPPUCCINO BRULEE - IDR 29.000
This coffee is to sweet for my liking. I wonder if the coffee less sweet to make a balance from the sweetness of the sugar caramel on top.

Overall, I'm pretty impress with Cake-a-Boo. Still curious with their other menu. They also serve cake in big version in case you want to have your birthday cake here. Because Cake-a-Boo still new joint in town, just get prepare with the long queue. Specially on the weekend. But don;t worry, the service is really quick and very informative.

CANTEEN at Pacific Place

I bet you guys already know about Canteen. Since it's not a new join in town. I first know Canteen at their Plaza Indonesia branch. But this time, I'm visiting  their other branch at Pacific Place. This is because they just renovated their branch here. That's what make me curious. And other things, my friend Chacha who craving for their Burger so much.

Entering Canteen means we should passing through the ak.sa.ra store area. The restaurant area look more spacious now. They split it into 2 area. The outdoor that look like bus stop, with a glass that covered the sitting area placed in the left and right side of the entrance.

Entering the restaurant area, we will welcome by their Bar Area. You can choose many selection drinks, cocktails even wine from their bars.

Canteen still loyal with their old theme interior. With a vintage look, Canteen interior dominated with wooden furniture and bricks for the wall. It was pretty tricky take a pictures here, since they have a dim lighting for the entire restaurant. But it give effect a bit romantic though. I love sitting infront of the big window. We can see the city while we eat. Plus the big windows give more spacious effect to the room.

Now let's find out the menu. A bit confuse when I saw the menu list. I felt like... I want this and that... Hahaha So typical...

CAESAR SALAD WITH GRILLED CHICKEN - IDR 55.000
Love this Caesar Salad. With crunchy romaine lettuce that still taste fresh, crispy beef bacon, and croutons. Served with grilled chicken. It has a big cut with a tender texture. The portion also pretty big. At first I want to make this salad for an appetizer. Before I ordered their other menu. But then, I become full with right away. Nice salad!

CANTEEN CHEESE BURGER ON BRIOCHE WITH BEEF BACON AND SALSA 
- IDR 80.000
To be honest, at first I don't have much expectation to this cheese burger. But then, we I taste it, I have to admit, this burger is great. Unlike the usual burger that only use ketchup or barbeque sauce, this burger use salsa sauce that have spicy and sour taste. This sauce really elevate this cheese burger. Also love the patty. It still juicy and tender. They cooked it right. Plus the brioche bun, it fluffy and moist. They said its homemade. Served with big cuts of french fries.

Ice Lemon Tea - IDR 30.000

Overall, we have so much fun here at Canteen. The service also good and fast. Will comeback again someday to dig in other's Canteen menu.

THREE BUNS BURGER and HEADS - SENOPATI

Senopati Area keep bombing with the new join of restaurants and cafes. So many kind of food you can find in Senopati. Heard from a friend, that there's new Burger place that worth to visit. I love burger, but not a big fan of it. But since she said that I have to try it, then it make me curious.

Ladies  & Gents... please welcome the new comer in town, Three Buns Burger.  First stepped in to the Three Buns Burger area, I was so stunning. Amazed with the place. Pretty spacious with wooden dominated all over the place. It feel so earthy and felt like dining outside.

We're welcome by the rustic van that painted with blue and white paint with bulldog heads as a logo topped of it. This van actually use for the order place. So quite unique. Just like ordering food from food truck like I saw on TV hehehe...

So surprise when I steeped in into the dining area. The server soon welcoming us with a bit sad face. He sad the place is full packed that time and the air is so damn hot. Yeepp... my eyes quick scanning into the whole area, and yes it FULL PACKED!! No wonder, since I came here around 1pm, at the lunch time. But since I already came here, so I keep ordered it to take away.

Looking at the situation around, no wonder that the place feel like the oven. The roof is transparent, and that make the sun generously. It felt like burnt until under your skin. Even the air purifier in  every corner didn't help much. If you can deal with heat, than probably the hot weather, not a big deal for you. But if you can't stand with heat, I suggest to come here after 3pm. But still, the decoration and the ambiance had amazed me. Split in to two floor, but still you see all over the place wherever you sit. There are wooden chairs and tables, there are also sitting area "tatami" look like.

After ordering the food in the Van, the cashier will give you the waiting number. This waiting number can be use to take your order when the light number in the board already turn on. It means your order is ready. And you can take your order at the station that none other than their kitchen. I saw Adam Penney, Three Buns chef working like a ninja. He prepared customer orders to the perfect.

FOUR FLOORS - IDR 125.000
Double Prime 100g Beef Patties, Double Cheese, Triple Onions, Lettuce, Pickles, Ketchup & Den Miso Mayo.
Since its lunch hour, so I ordered the Four Floors. It the big, gigantic and massive burger here. Yeeaahh... I know that picture not so pretty and look messy. But from the greasy look come out the scrumptious taste. The smooth and soft bun filled with double patty. The patty... OMG!! It so juicy and fatty. They cooked it in Medium level. But you still can customize it if you want to. In this Four Floors there are TWO fatty patty that have 100g each! Imagine how full is that after you eat this. The ketchup and den miso mayo was not too overpowering. It has a great balance. So it's not cover up the patty taste. The miso mayo taste quite unique. With a a savory, tangy, a bit sweet. It kick till the end. Make the whole Burger taste more amazing.

Overall, my experience dining in Three Buns Burger was really great. I wish I can order for more and experience more taste of Three Buns Burger. Still drooling look at their others menu.

Black Listed Coffee at Lotte Shopping Avenue

Several weeks ago, I met up some friends at Lotte Shopping Avenue. We decided to meet at Black Listed Coffee. Since the place looked cozy for us to chit chat and doing some works with our laptop. Yes they have a good WI-FI connection here.

Black Listed placed in Lotte Shopping Avenue 1st Floor. From the facade appearance, it already look so eye-catching. Dominated black and yellow colors with modern chic theme. And there's a big written on their wall that wrote "King Charles Banned Coffee House". Well, no wonder, in the year 1675 coffee become a taboo things. It been banned. Back to the future, Black Listed has become one of must visit coffee shop. I love how they manage their interior.

Look at the cute couch and pillow. It wrote the coffee brand on it. Others, they put the wooden chairs. And the area is divided into two area. Indoor and outdoor. I still prefer the indoor one.

 Black Listed also served many variant of food. It start from appetizer, main course, dessert, cakes and of course choice of coffee.

Truffle Fries - IDR 35.000

I really love their truffle fries. Te truffle oil was so fragrant. With a bit dry herbs on top, make this fries taste more great.  You should try this.

Blacklisted Burger - IDR 69.000

Stacks of Onion Rings, 100% ground Australian Beef Patty & Beef Bacon, Melted Mozzarella on homemade charcoal bun with coleslaw& potato wedges.
This burger that first captured by my eyes. Black big burger with a generous amount of cheese. Why the bun color is black? Because they use charcoal powder in to it. I like the consistency of the patty. They grilled it right. It still juicy and its so thick. The beef bacon also good. Not dry. To add the crunchy texture, they put the onion rings in it. 

Tea in a Pot – IDR 22.000

English Breakfast – Earl Grey – Peppermint – Chamomile – Green Tea

Ice Lychee Tea - IDR 29.000

Refreshing Ice Lychee Tea. Great balance between the tea and the lychee syrup. The tea always always freshening in any occasion and with any food.

So overall, my experience in Black Listed was great. The service was great and also with the food. My next visit, I'm going to try their coffee fosho...
