I've heard (and know) about Mamma Rosy since last year and never get a chance to visit there, eventhough I pretty often passed through Kemang Area. Yes, Mamma Rosy located in a very hype area, Kemang, that full packed with many kind of restaurants and cafes.
Mamma Rosy offer a genuine Italian home cooking. Where the menu comes out from their family recipes. Forget the Micheline star chef or a fancy kind of restaurant. Mamma Rosy just offer a food and a restaurant where you can feel like home, sitting at dining dining table while your mom is cooking for you.
Entering Mamma Rosy area, you will greet by the greeny garden with a fish pond. And this outdoor area in the 1st floor is meant to the smokers. The main house, full with Javanese and Balinese interior and divided into several rooms. The rooms that looks like a bedroom in usual house, turn into a private dining area. This restaurant really not feel like entering a restaurant at all. Me and my foodies mates place in 2nd floor that become a outdoor dining area with a Terrace Bar. The ambiance is so relaxing and more hype. But since we go there at lunch hour, it so freakin' hot!! Even though we sat in door but since it surround by a gigantic window, thehot from the sun that wont cooperate felt so humid. But the Air Conditioner did help us a bit.
My post below is going to be a lot of heavy photo. Since the menu that served that day is so many from each categories. And the portion that look on the photos below is not the original portion. It made for sharing. If you want order the same menu, the portion will be substitute into a personal portion.

PROSCIUTTO E SALAME - PORK - IDR 119.000
Crudo parma ham with fresh melon
A thin slice cut of ham, salami and sausage. Well, I didn't eat it though. Since I don't eat pork. But according to my friend who ate it, she said, it was too salty.

Thin slices of beef marinade with lemon, olive oil and shavings of parmesan cheese, rucola and sundried tomatoes
A fresh start before moving to carbs menu.The combination between the rucola (somekind like salad rocket), lemon and tomato really make this dish so fresh and awakening. And makes the raw beef slices even more delicious.
VITELLO TONNATO - IDR 44.000
finely sliced roast beef sirloin with tonnata sauce of tuna, fresh mayonnaise and capers
I can say that the appearance not as pretty as the previous dish. A bit skeptic at first. But when I taste it, surprisingly taste good. The tangy from the capers make it not too overwhelmed. I spread it in the foccacia bread that served earlier for complimentary, and it pretty decent. Nice.
CAPRESE - IDR 69.000
fresh mozzarella and fresh tomato, basil pesto
I had tried this dish before as an appetizer at other restaurant, and always like it. The combination between basil and pesto really great. Its fragrant and so fresh.
PASTA
TAGLIATELLE CARBONARA - IDR 89.000
Loved the tagliatelle. In a glance, for those who don't know (like me), the shape looks like fettuccine. It has a long and flat shape. When it served to our table, the smell of the cheese already makes me mouthwatering and drooling. It cooked aldente with the generous amount of parmesan. The hint of black pepperbecome a great balance for the parmesan. RECOMMENDED!
RISOTTO FONTINA SPECIAL - IDR 99.000
risotto al fungi (mushroom) with fontina cheese
Risotto is an Italian rice dish that cooked with broth. If you make a single mistake in cooking it, your risotto might end mushy or like weird porridge. But risotto that Mamma Rosy made is so amazing. The truffle oil that come out from the risotto really blew me away. Even though it full of cheese and creamy, but the taste not too overwhelmed like the tagliatelle.
RAVIOLI BURRO e SALVIA - IDR 89.000
Ravioli with butter, sage and parmesan
Another choice for more lighter dish and not creamy, there's a ravioli with spinach filling in it. I love the smell of the herbs and the butter. But it a bit dry and a bit bland I must say.
GNOCCHI PESTO - IDR 89.000
Pesto with fresh basil leaves, Italian Grana Padano, pine nuts, garlic, extra virgin olive oil
The aroma from fresh basil is really great. But for me, the gnocchi texture is too overcooked. I like if it a bit chewy. But I guess the pesto sauce and the Italian Grana Padano cheese had succeed cover it all.
SPAGHETTI Al FRUTTI Di MARE - IDR 89.000

The spaghetti cooked aldente with a lot amount of seafood like squid, fresh clams and prawns. But for me the spaghetti is too dry and make the sauce not too pop out and make the seafood like sinking in it. luckily the seafood served fresh and not smelly. For you who don't like something creamy, maybe this spaghetti can be your choice.
LASAGNA Al PESTO - IDR 89.000

I always a huge fans of lasagna. No matter how they cook it. I feel like become Garfield cat when it comes to lasagna LOL. Yeah... WTF! And looked at layers by layers of lasagna that Mamma Rosy served, I'm so drooling. Like the combination of the pesto and the cream. It all blend in every layers.
LASAGNA POMODORO - IDR 89.000

For more traditional lasagna, try this pomodoro lasagna. The appearance is more beautiful than the pesto one. As for the taste, this as good as good as the pesto one. The taste a bit sour from the tomato.The cream not too dominated and has a well balance with the tomato. Likey!!

Even though there's a cabe (chilli) on description, but this pizza is not that spicy. I already imagine the chilli will have a kick taste. But i like it though. The tuna flakes is good and not smelly.
KARNIVORA (MEAT LOVERS) - IDR 124.000
tomato, mozzarella, basil onion, smoked beef, marinated garlic beef, parsley and paprika
At first I thought Karnivora means, the pizza loaded with meat. But it only comes with the smoked beef. But luckily, the smoked beef quiet generous. Love this Pizza.

MAIN COURSE
After a tons of food and carbo it even not a main course yet OMG!.Now we move to main course with a tummy that almost scream for mercy. LOL
AGNELLO Al BRANDY - IDR 159.000
Tender Lamb Slowly Roasted In Oven with Brandy and Italian Herbs
Everytime I eat lamb, I'm a bit skeptic with the stinky smell. But Mamma Rosy succeed manage it into a great dishes. It ripped off easily from the bone and it marinated well. I like it pairing it with the salad they have.
FILETTO ALLA LIGURE - IDR 119.000
Fish fillet cooked in oven with wine, capers, cherry tomatoes, black olives
If you feel meat is too heavy for you, then Mamma Rosy have fish selection also. Forget to ask what is the kind of the fish. But as long as its not fishy, fine with me hehehe... Like the wine that hint and soak well into the fish. It marinated so well without overpowering taste. Capers, Black Olives and the cherry tomatoes add more fresh flavor, tangy sour all play in my palate.
CONTORNI / SIDE DISH
For main course, Mamma Rosy has 3 selection of side dish that you can choose along with your main course. The salad served fresh, with a gorgeous color. Vegetable Sautee here is a spinach sautee that way too overcooked for me. It become a bit mushy. Meanwhile the potato wedges, fried perfectly. My foodies mate Mommy Eliza plating it for us to be a beautiful main course with the side dish.
DESSERT
CROSTATA Di MELE - IDR 44.000
traditional apple crumble with vanilla ice cream
Like the consistency of the apple crumble. Its sweet, its sour and its yummy. Served with the very smooth vanilla ice cream. Felt like it can chill the hot whether that day.
PANNA COTTA - IDR 39.000
Light Italian Milk Pudding Dessert with Homemade Caramel
A simple dessert with a big taste. Its not too milky and not too sweet. Even thought there's caramel sauce on top of it. But I think the texture a bit dense.
BUDINO DELLA NONNA - IDR 44.000
grandma’s recipe pudding with eggs, amaretti biscuits and caramel sauce
The texture is soft and moist. Like unusual puding, its more like cake but more softer. Like the combination with the caramel sauce.
ZUPPA INGLESE - IDR 44.000
savoiardi biscuits dipped into red alkermes liqueur with fresh chocolate and egg custard
This probably my best dessert numero uno from the four above. Yes, the appearance looks mushy. But it taste bloody amazing. Not recommended to peoples who's in diet (and I guess I should do diet soon after this). The combination between the liqueur and chocolate that I thought would be so much sweet flavor, it turned out to be a great balance. It was a bomb in my mouth.
DRINKS
VIRGIN MOJITO - IDR 39.000
lime, fresh mint leaves, brown sugar, simple syrup
I thought this would be there's a kick of soda or liqueur taste like the not virgin mojito one. But this mojito is no alcohol. The lime and fresh lime really a pain killer for the angry sun that day.
SPRITZ and SANGRIA - IDR 79.000
aperol, prosecco, sprite
The combination on 3 ingredients really mixed well. Nothing too dominated. It so fragrant. Love it.
At the end, we had so much fun here. Visit here not only had a chance to try their extra-ordinary menus, but we had a chance to chit chat with the family.
